Merry Christmas, it's Krampus on a Ski Bike!

Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, and Season's Greetings to one and all! Here is another of my "Monsters on Bikes" drawings. Here is that old rascal Krampus, sliding his way to the homes of naughty children on his very own ski bike.

Krampus was drawn with a set of neutral black Copic Multiliners. Although many of the traditional illustrations depict him with one hoof and one quasi-human foot, I opted to give him two hooves.

I am getting psyched about this project! Hopefully I will have more to post soon.

Monsters on bikes (for a book)!

Monsters on bikes! I have started a series of drawings for a planned book of monsters on bikes. I have 3 done so far (one of them is from my Inktober drawings.)

First up is my Inktober drawing of the Creature from the Black Lagoon on a tricycle. I like his cute, friendly expression. Not all of the monsters will be scary, and I intend this to be an all-ages book.

Next up is a Giger-inspired Xenomorph (from "Alien") riding a Pennyfarthing. I modeled the Alien after the one featured in the titualr film, as it has plantargrade feet more suited to cycling.

My final drawing for this update is a manticore. This is the classic manticore design, without wings.
This drawing is 90% done- I need more work around the mouth.

That's it for now! Stay tuned for more drawings!

How NOT to transport a Christmas tree!

I completed these wacky illustrations for BestRide.Com and thought I'd share them here! Here are the inks I completed. All images are © BestRide.Com 2015:
Don't carry your tree in a bus

...or already decorated on the roof...

...or across the hood...

...or on a motorcycle...

...or strapped to the side...

...or sideways across the roof...

...or on a skateboard...

...or inside the car...

...or standing upright...

...or stuffed in the trunk!

Check out and 'like' Best Ride on Facebook to see the delightfully colored versions, with colors by Kurt Hanss! Here's a preview for you!

Inktober 2015

This is the first year that I participated in the Inktober initialive, and I enjoyed it very much! Most most of my drawings were done with copic markers, and a few were done with India ink and a brush. I managed to complete a drawing every day (with varying levels of quality!)

Something Sweet for Christmas!

Once upon a time, I used to help make Christmas cakes for my company's annual holiday parties. They are too much work for the amount of cake we need, but they were still fun. They are made with fondant and modeling chocolate, and I had a lot of help (mainly with the baking!) from one of my friends. I still enjoy looking at these pics as they bring back some good memories.
